Inventor (automatic camera)
R. studied law in Handl and began building his career when World War I broke out. As a scout in the Air Force he had to take photographs from the aircraft. Due to the problems with exposure, the quality of the photos was really poor, that is why he decided to improve it after the war.
R. soon developed a structure for setting the automatic exposure time by means of a battery operated device. He received a patent for it in 1930. The automatic camera revolutionized the photographic industry and large companies bought R.'s design and used for their production. In addition R. invented an electric light meter, produced in his company in Budapest. His fate is unknown after 1944.
