Inventor (Stereoscopy)
Until 1930 V. attended a secondary modern school in Nitra and studied at the Faculty of arts of the University of Komenský in Bratislava until 1938. A year before the termination of studies he published a book called “Film and school”. Upon completion of his studies he first held the post of Director of the National psychological Institute in Bratislava, from 1940 onwards the post of Director of the Institute for School and sexual education film (ŠKOLFILM) and from 1947 on the post of Director of the Slovak Film Society (SLOFIS). In 1949 he together with his family immigrated to Brazil and settled in Sao Paulo. Here he applied several patents in the field of optics and photography, among other things patents for stereoscopical device for observing large formats photos and for wide-angle rear-view mirrors for cars. He managed to construct a stereoscopic camera and projector in 1953. He published articles relating to the stereoscopy in Brazilian newspapers, and, appart from that, he published a monograph entitled "Basics of Orthostereoscopy". He later assembled a 3D stereo camera, according to decriptions in the mentioned monograph.
